Project First Taste introduces women in origin to the coffees they grow and trains them to work toward more sustainable quality and higher crop value

These women are strong and determined. They rely on coffee to feed and nurture their families but too often they fall victim to unscrupulous buyers. Once a woman is provided the tools to cup (taste) the coffees she grows, she begins the journey toward empowerment and improvement of life for her family, her community, and herself.

The participants in Project First Taste receive...

  1. Bulleta beginners cupping lab to take back to their farms

  2. BulletTwo days of training in tasting, aromatics, and improving quality

  3. Bulletindividual sessions on marketing and markets

  4. Bulletbusiness building skill sessions

  5. Bulletgroup interaction and networking

  6. Bulletglobal exposure through CoffeeTalk Magazine

There are over 25 million farms worldwide that grow coffee. Most are very small, under 2 acres, and most are owned and operated by women. It is amazing that most of these women have never tasted the coffees they grow for export.
